The Samsung Star has a worthy successor with the new Samsung Star II S5260. Announced earlier this week, the Samsung Star II S5260 phone shouldn't be confused with Samsung Star Duos GT-B7722 which is a dual-SIM phone. The Samsung Star II is much like its predecessor the Star but with a few minor enhancements to keep up with the rest of the mobile phone pack, especially focusing on social networking features.

Samsung Star II S5260: Specs, Features
The Samsung Star II S5260 phone comes with a 3.0-inch WQVGA (240x400) pixel resolution and a capacitive touchscreen. The phone also has a 3.2MP fixed focus camera, 30MB of in-built storage with expandable microSD card storage up to 16GB. The Samsung Star II S5260 has the latest version of Samsung's proprietary interface, the TouchWiz 3.0 UI with multitasking support.
The Star II S5260's TouchWiz UI has dedicated Facebook and Twitter integration for a seamless social networking experience. The phone also supports QuickType T9 Trace Keyboard for enhanced typing while chatting or IMs -- Yahoo, Google Talk, MSN, Facebook chat, and AIM. The Samsung Star II S5260 also integrates Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and Social Hub for better social networking support. Additionally the phone comes with a 3.5mm audio jack.

According to the Korea IT Times report, the Samsung Star II S5260 will be available from February in Germany followed by other European countries, India and Middle East. For the features and specs it offers, we expect the Samsung Star II S5260 to be priced below Rs. 10,000 when it launches in India in the coming months.
